Dominic Cummings mocks Carrie Symonds and Boris Johnson

Dominic Cummings has launched a thinly veiled attack on Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds as he said politicians now focus more on gossip-column stories about their dogs than on issues of existential importance .  The Prime Minister s ex-top adviser is set to formally leave the Government tomorrow when his Whitehall contract ends.  He has been working from home since he was ousted from Number 10 in November after losing a Downing Street power battle which saw his Vote Leave faction clash with Ms Symonds.   In an apparent sign of just how bad the breakdown has been in the relationship between Mr Johnson and his former right hand man, Mr Cummings has taken a coded swipe at the premier, his fiancee Ms Symonds and their dog Dilyn.
