BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge area is experiencing its third day in a row of freezing temperatures and thousands remain in cold homes without electricity, as of early Wednesday, Feb. 17. Unexpected cloud cover throughout the area on Tuesday, Feb. 16 prevented temperatures from rising above 32º, according to WAFB First Alert Chief Meteorologist Jay Grymes.

Matthew Crawford is a writer, philosopher and mechanic. His latest book, Why We Drive: Toward a Philosophy of the Open Road , examines the social dimension of driving. For our chat, I chose the third movement of Sibelius’ Violin Concerto. Crawford selected a recording of the great guitarist Andrés Segovia playing the Allemande from Bach’s Lute Suite in E minor.
