The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says contrary to claims by the Electoral Commission that the 2020 elections were largely successful, the 2020 elections were poorly conducted.
“The facts show that last year s election was one of the most poorly conducted, flawed and manipulated election in the history of this country; a situation that has undermined the strides we have made since the inception of this 4th republican democratic dispensation,” the NDC said at a press conference on Wednesday.
The press conference was in reaction to a communique issued by IPAC following a 2-day workshop to review the 2020 presidential and parliamentary election.

Regional Collation centres were conduits for rigging elections for Akufo-Addo - Apaak alleges
The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak is alleging that the Electoral Commission under the chairmanship of Jean Mensa purposely set up the regional collation centres as conduits for rigging the elections For President Akufo-Addo.
The legislator further alleges that these centres served as an avenue by which the rigging and fraud in the form of padding votes for the president and skimming or reducing those of former President John Dramani Mahama was through the Regional Collation Centres.
He said these never existed till the Jean Mensa lead EC came into being.

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr Clement Apaak has alleged that the regional collation centres set up by the Jean Mensa-led Electoral Commission was an avenue through which padding votes for President Akufo-Addo took place while reducing votes of Mr John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December 7 polls.
“These never existed till the Jean Mensa-led EC came into being,” Dr Apaak said in a statement.
According to the lawmaker, from previous elections, to ensure that every valid vote cast is counted, the total number of valid votes cast at each polling station is recorded and apportioned to the candidates at that polling station. Then, the record of votes totalled at all polling stations in a constituency are added up at the Constituency Collating Centre.
