A 27-year-old Yandina man who was arrested for allegedly stabbing another man several times has been released on bail.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, Caleb Fleming allegedly stabbed a 29-year-old in the abdomen after an argument at a Scott Street home.
Speaking to media on Monday, Maroochydore Criminal Investigation Branch officer-in-charge Daren Edwards said there had been a gathering at the residence on the night of alleged offence.
“People were gathering at an address in Scott Street in Yandina and unfortunately one of those males was subject to numerous stab wounds,” Senior Sergeant Edwards said.

Aaron John Robbie, 34, will remain in custody following his appearance in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Thursday morning. Speaking to media on Thursday, Maroochydore Criminal Investigations Branch officer-in-charge Daren Edwards said the Mountain Creek man was arrested after police allege he threatened another man at knifepoint, demanding the keys to his vehicle at a Gardak Street address, before fleeing the scene on foot about 3.30pm on Wednesday. Senior Sergeant Edwards said Mr Robbie was apprehended a short distance away.

Police have appealed to several people who may have witnessed the alleged attempted rape of a young woman at Noosa to come forward.
A Sunshine Beach man, 22, was on Thursday arrested and charged after he allegedly tried to sexually assault a young woman on April 18.
Police say the woman was on her way to work about 5.20am when the man allegedly grabbed her.
Sunshine Coast CIB officer-in-charge Daren Edwards said there were at least six people who may have spoken with the accused that morning.
“There’s a few innocent people we would like to speak to about it,” Detective Senior Sergeant Edwards said.
A 27-year-old Buderim man was charged with 15 offences and a 27-year-old Mountain Creek man was charged with 11 offences. A further four men and a woman were also charged with dangerous drug offences.
Sunshine Coast CIB officer-in-charge Daren Edwards said police will allege the seven people arrested were part of an “organised group”.
“Certainly, it showed with the level of drugs they had access to,” Detective Senior Sergeant Edwards said.
“They were fairly organised and people who had come up from southern areas of Brisbane which we are continuing investigation on.”
Sergeant Edwards said the 13-ounce block alone had a value of $132,000.
