ANN ARBOR, MI Temperatures were warming up Saturday, but Ann Arbor Public Schools teachers had another reason to smile: They were getting the COVID-19 vaccine at the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center.
Staff and volunteers from the Washtenaw County Health Department spent Saturday morning preparing doses and setting up stations inside the building to vaccinate teachers gearing up to return to in-person learning. AAPS announced that students will begin returning to the classroom in a hybrid learning format beginning March 25.
For Ko Shih, a fifth- and sixth-grade teacher at Ann Arbor Open School, getting the vaccine was a huge relief.
