Nations Trust WNPS Public Lecture to Discuss ‘Managing Human-Wildlife Conflict Involving Iconic Species’ July, 14, 2021 Nations Trust Bank, in partnership with the Wildlife and Nature Protection Society (WNPS), Sri Lanka will host a webinar on ‘Managing Human-Wildlife Conflict Involving Iconic Species’ as part of the monthly ‘Nations Trust WNPS Public Lecture’ series. The July lecture featuring Australian Ecologist Dr. Desley Whisson will be held on the 15 th of July at 6 p.m. via Zoom and FB Live.   Dr. Whisson is a terrestrial wildlife ecologist and Senior Lecturer in Wildlife and Conservation Biology at Deakin University, Australia. She conducts applied research on iconic wildlife species, working very closely with Koalas, to develop effective management strategies and resolve human-wildlife conflicts. SLITHM signs MoU with Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne

The Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EHL Advisory Services Llp to conduct a gap analysis study in Sri Lanka with the aim to improve the quality of tourism education on par with global tourism education standards. Established in 1964, SLITHM is the only government-approved premier Institute in Sri Lanka to train youth in the field of Hospitality and Travel and is managed by The Ministry of Tourism. The Institute offers courses island wide in Anuradhapura, Bandarawela, Pallekelle, Koggala, Ratnapura, Kurunegala, Jaffna and Pasikudha. Port City Colombo donates high flow oxygen therapy machines to aid the battle against COVID-19

Amid the third wave of the rising number of COVID-19 cases around the country, Port City Colombo donated high flow oxygen therapy machines to aid the national battle against the pandemic. The donation was made to Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi at the Health Ministry premises on Tuesday (08) and was handed over by Jiang Houliang, CHEC Port City Colombo Managing Director, on behalf of the company. The Minister highly appreciated the donation stating that it is a timely initiative due to the high demand for such equipment with increasing COVID cases across the island. Port City Colombo has continued to support the health authorities in their efforts to control the spread of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic outbreak in the country and has made multiple well-timed donations to the authorities over the past few months.
