Former President Donald Trump attended UFC 264 in Las Vegas on Saturday night, coming out through the fighter tunnel right before the Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier main event. Trump received mostly cheers from the crowd and “U-S-A” chants also broke out during his entrance.
Trump and UFC president Dana White have an old friendship. Trump attended UFC 244 back in 2019, marking the first time a sitting U.S. President has attended a UFC event, while White spoke at the 2016 and 2020 Republican National Conventions in support of Trump’s Presidential campaigns.

Ruth Irene Robl, 96, a lifetime Black River native, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on May 16, 2021 at the Samaritan Summit Nursing Home, where she had resided since July of 2015.
Ruth was born on October 4, 1924, in Watertown, NY, the daughter of Arthur Charles Carroll and Clara Helen (Gates) Carroll. Ruth graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1942 from Black River High School.
After graduation she worked at JJ Newberry and Pine Camp Post Exchange (now Fort Drum) where she met a young soldier from Oshkosh, Wisconsin. On October 14, 1943 Ruth was united in marriage to Harold Wenzel Robl, son of Wenzel Robl and Violet (Poeschi) Robl at Chapel 2, Pine Camp, NY (now Fort Drum). Their brief marriage would welcome 4 children before the untimely death of Harold on June 13,1952. She never remarried.
Recall Nithya Raman
I have been key in starting the initiative to recall.
I have lived in Los Angeles City Council District 4, for the most part since 1994, and I believe Raman is not the right representative we need for our area, at this time.
Raman seems a nice person, based on my limited interaction with her. But in my view, she is not cut out to lead 250,000 constituents from the San Fernando Valley to Silver Lake at a time as precarious as this. And as one poster wrote recently on NextDoor: Tom LaBonge is, without certain, rolling in his grave.
Miller also noted that only 69 of the 976 complaints made against individual officers last June and July named SRG officers, which he suggested “may be due to the advanced training SRG officers receive in team tactics for arrests that are specifically geared to reduce injuries to those being arrested and to the police officers arresting them.” Yet the SRG was heavily involved in some of the most brutal repression of protests in the wake of Floyd’s killing last summer, including the violent arrests of at least 263 people police had trapped in the streets at a June 4 protest in the Bronx. Last month, The Intercept published a series of SRG training documents that reflect the unit’s heavy-handed approach to the policing of protest: coaching cops on tactical maneuvers and mass arrest scenarios, as well as providing additional training for SRG’s distinctive armor-clad bike squads.
