No fewer than 507 communities in Kwara State will benefit from the federal government’s COVID-19 Rapid Response Scheme.
Head of Operations, Coordinating Unit of the National Social Safety-nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO) in the state, Taiye Iliasu, disclosed this following the conclusion of its sensitisation programme on COVID-19 Rapid Response Register (RRR) in the state held in Kosuboso, the headquarters of Baruten Local Government Area.
According to him, the process of registering beneficiaries for the project will involve deployment of Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) code and broadcasting of Short Messaging Service (SMS) to cell-phones in all eligible communities.

A new survey conducted across four states in northwestern Nigeria has revealed that Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are the least benefactors of the various national social protection programmes in these states.
This is in spite of the fact that the PWDs are among the most vulnerable and neglected set of people.
The survey, which was conducted in Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano and Zamfara States, was aimed at determining the level of inclusion and participation of PWDs in social protection policies, programmes and processes.
