AMY Lund, a senior teaching fellow at Leeds Trinity University, has published a book dedicated to the life and work of former colleague Professor Ruth Helyer. Professor Helyer, who died in August 2019, was Professor of Work-Based Learning at Leeds Trinity University and a National Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. After developing the work-based learning (WBL) agenda during the early 2000s, she became an internationally acclaimed expert in the field, contributing to many publications and journals relating to higher education and work-based learning. WBL courses provide students with experience in real-world working environments. Amy took on the role of WBL lead following Professor Helyer’s sudden death, after they had worked together on WBL projects in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
