The two-week event has been organized by Vision Hallowell, the Hallowell Conservation Commission and Kennebec Land Trust. People can visit some of the many businesses that have opened recently or reconnect with old favorites downtown. Hallowell’s Vaughan Woods has been overcrowded recently, so the groups look to introduce the community to other outdoor Hallowell places, like “Little Egypt.”

Walker, a lawyer, was elected in 2013, before being officially inaugurated in early 2014. Before his election, Walker had served on the City Council since 2006. During that time, Walker said that Hallowell has seen “a lot of change and a lot of development.”
