Blu-ray movie reviews: 'Annie Get Your Gun' and 'Broadway Melody of 1940'

Equally covered was her sometime combative, sometimes pathetic but perpetually percolating relationship with fellow star shooter Frank Butler (Howard Keel and his booming bass pipes). Hutton’s brash and boisterous performance, literally eating the camera at points, sells and saves the movie that was plagued with issues, including original director Busby Berkeley being fired, Judy Garland having to step away from the role of Annie due to health issues, and the original Buffalo Bill, Frank Morgan (“The Wizard of Oz”) dying during the production. As critical to Hutton’s giddy performance was, Berlin’s unending stream of classics such as “Doin’ What Comes Natur’lly,” “The Girl That I Marry,” “Anything You Can Do” and the absolute showstopper “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” making this musical one of the most memorable in the history of the genre.

Long Island business owner creates a space for local craftsmen to be recognized – The Statesman

SCREENSHOT OF NORTHFORKCRAFTGALLERY.COM Lyn Cooperman always dreamed of having her own business. She achieved that when she opened the North Fork Craft Gallery in Wading River four years ago, one of a group of small stores attached to The Inn and Spa at East Wind. Cooperman’s business recognizes local craftsmen by selling their work. That was always her idea one that came from growing up with an artisan sister and attending many craft fairs. “The shop is actually a result of 35 years of talking about doing something like this,” Cooperman, 62 , said. Cooperman’s passion for crafting partly came from experiencing her sister’s creativity and helping her sell at craft shows and wholesale shows. Combining that with her experience in retail resulted in her owning a gallery.

Spy camera case: Man attempts last-ditch effort to protect identity Veronica Schmidt © RNZ / Rebekah Parsons-King A man who put a spy camera in an Auckland gym s changing room is trying to have his case heard in the Supreme Court in a last-ditch effort to keep his identity secret. The man was a highly-paid government agency manager when he videoed a naked couple and four others. The High Court and Court of Appeal both ruled he should be convicted of making an intimate visual recording and should lose name suppression. He was set to be publicly identified tomorrow but this afternoon, eight hours before name suppression was set to drop, his lawyer Ron Mansfield told RNZ he had filed a notice of appeal in the Supreme Court.
