Chicago man pleads guilty to Carpentersville robbery where accomplice was killed

A Chicago man has pleaded guilty to robbing a Carpentersville business at gunpoint in September 2016, in a case where another suspect was shot and killed by one of the business workers.
Bobby Heard, 37, of the 5200 block of South Honore Street, accepted a sentence of 25 years in prison, according to a news release from the Kane County state s attorney s office.
According to authorities, around 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7, 2016, Heard and 37-year-old Kenyon Slater, both carrying handguns, entered the Oscarin s Computer Inc. computer-repair store in the 1600 block of Ravine Lane, restrained two workers and demanded money.

Two men, both 25, were standing on the sidewalk about 4:30 p.m. in the 700 block of East 79th Street when someone came out from the alley and began firing shots, Chicago police said.
One man was shot in the abdomen and arm and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t identified him.
The other was struck in the neck, leg and back and was taken to the same hospital in critical condition, police said.

A group of people had gotten into an argument in the 3000 block of West Warren Boulevard, and one of them fired into the crowd leaving the service about 12:05 p.m., Chicago police said.
A 29-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The attackers fled into a nearby alley and left in a car.
Other shootings: A man was shot during a fight with a neighbor in Hegewisch on the Far South Side. The 53-year-old man was drinking alcohol when he got into a fight with a neighbor, who pulled a gun and shot the man about 4:45 p.m. in the 13000 block of South Avenue O, police said. The man was struck in the upper right leg and transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition. The man who fired shots had a valid conceal carry license, according to police.

The 53-year-old was struck in the upper right leg and transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center
