(WTVM) - LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is now supplying all of the blood for Saint Francis Emory Hospital in Columbus and they need your help. According to Melinda Hinds with LifeSouth, they’re hoping businesses, churches, and other organizations in the Fountain City will host blood drives with LifeSouth to stock the shelves at Saint Francis. Hinds says because they are a community blood center, all their donations stay in the area to help local hospitals. That means they need people in Columbus to step up and donate.

(WAFF) - LifeSouth Community Blood Centers has opened a temporary pop-up location in Madison. The temporary blood center will be located at 12060 County Line Rd. Suite F. “There is no doubt we have struggled with blood donation recently,” said Kami May, District Community Development Coordinator. A representative with LifeSouth said due to recent winter storms and COVID-19, LifeSouth has been placed in an Emergency Appeal, which means there is a less than two-day blood supply on the shelves for area hospitals.

Sunny 105 7  Spring Into Action Blood Drive- Baldwin EMC Summerdale

Spring into action and deliver hope to our community during Baldwin EMC’s blood drive on Thursday, March 25, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. LifeSouth Community Blood Centers will have their bloodmobiles stationed outside of Baldwin EMC’s headquarters, located at 19600 State Highway 59 in Summerdale. The blood donations LifeSouth receives will benefit local medical centers, including Thomas Hospital, North Baldwin Infirmary, USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital and Mobile Infirmary, among many others in Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Each pint of blood has the potential to save as many as three lives, including accident victims, those fighting chronic illnesses and patients recovering from surgery.
