CHICAGO Eight people were wounded in a shooting at a party early Sunday morning in the Burnside neighborhood on the South Side, according to the Chicago Police Department. About 4 a.m., several gunmen approached guests who were gathered on a sidewalk, on a patio and in a doorway at 89th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue and opened fire, police said. There were more than 40 bullet casings found .

Police are asking the community for help finding a missing 13-year-old girl who was last seen in Lawndale on the West Side.
Noemi Cardoso was last seen about 10:30 a.m. May 21st in the 2300 block of South Kirkland Avenue, Chicago police said.
She is 5-foot-7, 180 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue shorts and purple pants.

28 shot, 4 fatally, in Chicago over weekend

The period was less deadly than last weekend, when 34 people were shot, eight of them fatally.
The most recent homicide this weekend left a man dead and two injured on the Eisenhower Expressway near Damen Avenue. A 22-year-old man was shot as he drove near Ashland Avenue just after midnight Monday, according to Illinois State Police. He crashed on the Damen ramp and died at the scene. His name hasn’t been released.
Two other people in the car were treated for gunshot wounds. State police found another crashed car nearby that was empty.

One teenager was fatally shot and at least three others were wounded during Chicago s weekend violence, which left two more people dead throughout the Windy City, police said Monday.
Four teenagers, ages 15, 15, 16 and 17, were wounded in three different shootings over the weekend, and the oldest victim did not survive, Chicago Police Department (CPD) statistics show.
CPD reported a total of 28 people were struck in 23 shooting incidents between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday. There were three murders during that time frame, police said.
The earliest shooting was reported shortly before 9:45 p.m. on Friday, when two boys, ages 16 and 17, and an 18-to-20-year-old man were sitting in a parked car around West 37th Street when a dark-colored Dodge Durango rolled up to their car and two men got out.
