Taipei, Feb. 1 (CNA) Visitors to the disused Duoliang Station in Taitung County, southeastern Taiwan, began being charged from Monday a cleaning fee of NT$10 (US$0.36) per entry, the Taimali Township Office said that day.
The station on the South-Link Line opened in 1992 but closed to rail traffic in 2006 and has since become a popular tourist attraction, with its platform turned into an observation deck overlooking the rail track and the Pacific Ocean coastline.
The South-Link Line is operated by the Taiwan Railways Administration and runs daily services between Fangliao Station in Pingtung County and Taitung Station in Taitung.
