Police: Missing Southbury man s shower on, vehicle in driveway when co-worker went for check-in FacebookTwitterEmail Mark Gasso, 63, of Southbury, has been missing since April 19, 2021.Contributed photo / Southbury Police Department SOUTHBURY When Mark Gasso failed to show up to work April 19, a co-worker who he’s known for years went over to Gasso’s Berkshire Road residence to check on him. Gasso was nowhere to be found, but his truck was in the driveway, the shower was on and his cell phone and wallet were also there, the man told police accordng to an investigation report. Police have since been investigating the whereabouts of Gasso, 63. The co-worker who has known Gasso since they were about 17, said he last exchanged text messages with Gasso on April 16 and that Gasso did not respond to a text sent April 18, the investigation report states.

Missing Southbury Man's Home is Now a Crime Scene

Since April 16, 63-year-old Mark Gasso has not been seen. News 12 Connecticut is reporting that Gasso s Berkshire Road home is considered a crime scene by police. Gasso s family told News 12 they haven t seen or heard from him in over two weeks. What is truly puzzling is when Gasso s family asked some of his co-workers to check his home, they discovered his phone and wallet along with a running shower and the TV still on. That s when Southbury Police and CT State Police were called in to help with the investigation. Both departments searched the area around his wooded property and Lake Zoar, which is not far from Gasso s home.

Officials are seeking the public’s assistance in locating New Haven County resident Mark Gasso, who was last seen in his Southbury home on Friday, April 16, prompting the Silver Alert on Tuesday, April 20. Gasso was described as being approximately 5-foot-11, weighing 185 pounds with no hair and hazel colored eyes. No description of his clothes he was last seen wearing was provided by investigators. Anyone with information regarding Gasso’s whereabouts, or has information as to where he may be going has been asked to contact the Southbury Police Department by calling (203) 264-5912.

Ryan Anthony Rutledge died at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Roxbury Road after the 2020 Jeep Wrangler he was driving went over a wire cable guardrail and crashed down an embankment. “Our community is hurting,” Pomperaug High School Principal Paul Jones said Wednesday morning. “Ryan was a great young man and (his death) is a huge loss.”
