Social distancing never looked so impressive – or chilly – as avid fell runners hit the peaks to celebrate Christmas. With Covid stopping their annual festivities in their tracks, members of the Northern Fells Running Club had to find a new way to celebrate as a group – from a distance. And thanks to north Cumbria’s 24 fells, the team, from Carlisle, Caldbeck, and beyond, saw their wishes come true with their Mega Social Distancing Event. Together in spirit, club members jogged their way to each summit on Sunday morning, (December 27) ensuring every single one was in the bag by 10am, ready for a special Covid-safe toast.
