Pembrokeshire’s Pure West Radio celebrates birthday
Online community station Pure West Radio is celebrating three years of operation announcing it has had two million listens since it started.
The station says it has had an average of 50,000 listens per week which is approaching nearly half of the population of Pembrokeshire.
A new website is also in the works as the team of 75 volunteers enjoy some virtual cake for the occasion.
Toby Ellis, Station Manager, said ‘These three years have flown by and what a true test the past 12 months has been but its proved that our service is
required and very much in demand. It’s simply not possible to run an organisation like this on your own, it’s the dedicated team we have that makes it happen.
The Queens Hall s livestream programme has been developed with support from the Cultural Recovery Fund from Creative Wales THE Queens Hall in Narberth has announced a top-quality live music line up for spring to be enjoyed exclusively from the comfort of your own home. With pubs, clubs and music venues across Wales remaining closed, the much-loved entertainment venue is spreading a little bit of aural relief across the county for those missing the magic of live music and gigs. Using support from the Cultural Recovery Fund from Creative Wales, the team at the hall has developed an eclectic, quality livestream programme showcasing local talent across Pembrokeshire and beyond.
Pembrokeshire is celebrating coming top of the recycling charts by releasing its own version of Queen s Thank God It s Christmas. The cover of the Queen Christmas classic has been recorded by members of Pembrokeshire County Council s waste collection crew with the kind support of Pure West Radio, Bluestone national park resort and the Torch Theatre. It was first aired on Friday and it s proving to be a massive hit on social media. Eco champion coordinator, Mark Bond said: As a line in the song suggests, it s been a long hard year for many and now we ve reached the number one spot for recycling in Wales, I thought we needed to do something extraordinary to celebrate that achievement and bring some much-needed festive cheer to Pembrokeshire residents.
