DULUTH, Minn.-Some good news for treasure hunters in the Northland…after cancelling last year’s events because of the pandemic, the semi-annual Duluth Junk Hunt will be returning later this month.
Over 100 vendors will be setting up inside both the DECC and Amsoil Arena to allow for plenty of room to social distance while hunting for that perfect antique, vintage, or repurposed piece for your home.
“It’s really fun to see people come in. They get so excited when they find something unique, because you never know what you’re gonna find, like, that’s, it is truly the thrill of the hunt,” said Emily Broman, owner and founder of the Duluth Junk Hunt.

While the first in-person Easter service in a year looks different, church leaders said it s still a breath of fresh spring air

DULUTH, Minn.- Churches and other Christian-centered community groups got together to celebrate Easter Sunday in-person again, after last year’s were pushed online due to pandemic-related shutdowns.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz allowed places of worship to reopen at limited capacity last May, but that was after Easter of 2020.
So for many area congregations, this Easter was the first they’ve been able to come together and for some individuals the first in-person service they’ve been to in a whole year.

Duluth Harbor Mission Seeking Holiday Donations
The Duluth Harbor Mission is continuing to collect donations during this holiday season to help those in need.
December 14, 2020
DULUTH, Minn. – The Duluth Harbor Mission is continuing to collect donations during this holiday season to help those in need. The organization is still accepting stocking caps and warm gloves along with nonperishable food items.
Management at the mission says it’s important to be serving the community in this capacity, especially during the pandemic.
“I think people are concerned,” said Veronica Ciurleo, the executive director of Duluth Harbor Mission. “There is a level of almost a fear of what’s going to happen tomorrow. Am I going to have enough? And a lot of people right now are also not working.”
