The principal governance organs of CARICOM are: (1) The Conference of Heads of Government with a rotating biannual chairmanship by a Prime Minister; and (2) a quasi cabinet through which individual heads of government have lead responsibility for specific areas and the Community Council Of Ministers (Ministers of CARICOM affairs in member states).

What else can we learn from these comparisons? Singapore’s success, as one of the world’s most prosperous nations, is due to the strong leadership style by Lee Kwan Yew when he took over the reins as Prime Minister in 1959. His government’s Connectivity, Openness, Reliability and Enterprise (CORE) economic development strategy was expertly implemented.
