Man allegedly threatens to bring gun to Muncy supermarket to get COVID-19 vaccine | News, Sports, Jobs

Mar 4, 2021 MUNCY – An elderly man faces misdemeanor charges for threatening to bring a gun to the Weis Market on East Penn Street in order to get the vaccine for COVID-19, state police alleged. William Cardennis, 82, of 179 Heatherbrooke Estates, was charged following the incident that occurred in the Muncy Creek Township supermarket about 5 p.m. on Feb. 22, police said. He has been charged with one count each of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct, police said. Cardennis approached a female employee in the store’s pharmacy and asked about how to get a vaccination shot for the virus. When the woman told him there were no more vaccines that day and that he would have to schedule an appointment online for a later date, he told her, “Well, I have a gun at home. If I brought it (to the store), would I get the vaccine? ‘Cause I’d do it,” according to an affidavit filed by Trooper Matthew Chamberlain.
