JANIE SLAVEN Photo by Ashley Smith LAUREL COUNTY — A London man was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon and another man was charged with murder following a shooting on Hal Rogers Parkway. Timothy Preston Miller, 59, of London was pronounced dead at the scene by Laurel County Coroner’s Office after being shot multiple times by another driver. Brian Keith Eldridge, 46, of London was arrested for Miller’s murder and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center, after Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says he admitted to shooting Miller. Eldridge also said he didn’t know why he shot him, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

Laurel County Sheriff s Office investigators said Harvey Couch of Beaver Dam, Kentucky and Amber Price of Harrisburg, Illinois were estimated to be moving 5 kilograms (11.02 pounds) of methamphetamine between Atlanta, Georgia and London and were reportedly also trafficking to Illinois, every two weeks. Investigators arrested Price, 54, and Couch, 24, at a residence off Hopkins Cemetery Road Thursday as they arrived to collect drug proceeds, according to a Laurel County Sheriff s Office press release. They are facing federal DEA charges.

Laurel man facing charges after reportedly threatening ambulance crew with knife

Smith A Laurel County man was arrested Monday after reportedly pulling a knife out on and threatening an ambulance crew who was trying to help his unresponsive wife. Charles B. Smith, 38, had called Laurel 911 center from his residence on Cane Creek Road, approximately 10 miles south of London. He requested an ambulance for his unresponsive wife and according to a Laurel County Sheriff s Office report, he decided to transport her to meet the ambulance crew along the way due to living so far out in the county. The Laurel County Ambulance crew met with him near Penny Lane on KY 229, approximately 2 miles south of London, and upon EMS attempting to assist, Smith reportedly began screaming profanities at both ambulance crew members and threatened to kill and stab them.

UPDATE: Laurel Sheriff s Office identifies wanted suspect in Friday shooting

UPDATE:  The Laurel County Sheriff s Office released the identity of the suspect who has not been located following a shooting Friday. Ernest Goforth, 49, of Fisherman s Cove Road is wanted regarding the shooting. Laurel County Sheriff s Office said in a Monday press release that Goforth and Denver Napier, 58, of Chaney Ridge Road were involved in an altercation with a man who was shot in the arm during the altercation.  Napier was taken into custody in the vicinity, but Goforth fled the scene. ORIGINAL STORY LAUREL COUNTY — A man was shot Friday afternoon and one suspect has not yet been located, while the other has been arrested.
