Bui Power to add 50MW to the national grid   Bui Power The Bui Power Authority (BPA) will, by the end of March this year, add 50 megawatt (50mw) of solar energy to the national grid. The innovation is backed by Parliament’s amendment of Bui Power Authority Act (Act 740), which enables the Authority to develop renewable energy and other clean energy alternatives in the country. The 50mw renewable energy source, which is part of the Authority’s 250mw Hydro-Solar Hybrid project, was announced on Friday during a brief media engagement in Accra. The Deputy Chief Officer of the BPA, Dr George Tettey, explained that the project aimed at assisting the government to achieve the 10% power generation from renewable energy sources target by 2030.

CPI Minister Tours NiCE Work Sites, Thanks Workers 21 January 2021, 04:52 AM Politics & Government Minister of Commerce, Planning and Infrastructure (CPI), Hon. Joey Hew braved inclement weather to undertake his National Enhancement Project (NiCE) tour (Wednesday, 20 January 2021). The scaled back site visits took in two areas of George Town, namely Windsor Park and the Broadwalk on South Sound Road. At the former, NiCE workers cleared roadside verges, cut bush and cleared fly-tipped refuse from the neighbourhood. Accompanied by the Acting Director Public Works Department, Mr. Troy Whorms; the Deputy Chief Officer of Ministry of CPI, Mrs. Leyda Nicholson-Makasare; and NiCE Project Manager, Mrs. Lois Kellyman; Minister Hew spoke to the teams and thanked them for a job well done on behalf of his Ministry and the general public. Minister Hew also asked workers about their experiences on the programme.
