SINGAPORE: At the first sessions of Parliament after Singapore gained independence, four months after Aug 9, 1965, survival was the theme.
Changes to the Constitution were made and dozens of Bills passed – including the Republic of Singapore Independence Act, which spelt out the legislative nuts and bolts of Singapore’s sovereignty.
Responsibilities include:
Managing the delivery of high quality, consumer-focused, culturally sensitive, and cost-efficient services based on the recovery model;
Ensuring that services are aligned with best practices and produce positive outcomes for consumers;
Providing leadership in working with state and federal funding agencies to secure grants, and ensuring that grand-funded services are in compliance with program regulations;
Supervising and providing direction to 149 full time staff, including clinical and non-clinical employees;
Managing the divisional budget of $23 million and overseeing contracted BHD services;
Setting policy, evaluating programs, and conducting short and long range planning;
Ensuring compliance with state, federal and local policies and regulations;
