PH teams enjoy early lead in Dota Pro Circuit Season 2

Smart Omega outplays Lilgun for triumphant debut in SEA Upper Division

Published April 14, 2021, 6:23 PM Photo from Smart Omega Smart Omega proved steadier as it downed Lilgun, 2-1, to score a victorious debut in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Season 2-Southeast Asia Upper Division on Wednesday, April 14.  Emerging midlaner Mc Nicholson “Mac” Villanueva on his unorthodox Beastmaster spearheaded Omega’s relentless assault in Game 1 while it was carry Justin “Tino” Grimaldo on his Alchemist who took charge in the deciding Game 3.  Both Omega and Lilgun were promoted to the Upper Division and replaced Vice Esports (now South Built Esports) and 496 Gaming after topping the Lower Division in Season 1.  The Filipino squad avenged its 2-0 loss to the Mongolian side back in their duel in the previous season.

Execration reacquires Nando, Palos for next DPC-SEA season

Published February 28, 2021, 4:12 PM (Photo from Execration’s Facebook page) Only a few days have passed since Execration ended its campaign in the inaugural season of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC)-Southeast Asia Upper Division, but the team is already gearing up for the next one. After a botched bid to qualify for the Singapore Major, Execration revamped its roster with the reacquisition of veteran Fernando “Nando” Mendoza and rising star Jinn “Palos” Lamatao for the second DPC season. The team announced the development through a Facebook post on Sunday, Feb. 28. Nando, known as a carry, replaced offlaner Glenard “Rupido” Rugay while Palos retained his position-1 role.

Execration stays in DPC-SEA Upper Division with nail-biting Game 3 victory over Vietnam's 496

Published February 24, 2021, 9:17 PM Photo from PGL stream  Execration pulled off a winning pickoff on the opponent Anti-Mage in Game 3 to edge out 496 Gaming of Vietnam, 2-1, and remain in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC)-Southeast Asia Upper Division on Wednesday night.  As the Aegis of Immortal in the hands of Trinh “458” Van Tho’s AM expired, Execration went full force to kill the sneaky carry in the 43rd minute before proceeding to close out the do-or-die game with a 53-26 scoreline in 48 minutes.  The Kimuel “Kim0” Borromeo-coached squad ended their first season campaign with a 2-5 record, enough to keep its spot in the Upper Division.
