The Reservoir is also a natural setting for recreational activities and outdoor pursuits. The 770-acre Reservoir is part of a larger 1,208 acre site that include woods and wetlands, a 5-mile perimeter trail, fishing and boating areas, and a Visitor Center.

Many Ocean County parks will collect freshly cut Christmas trees throughout January. (Renee Schiavone/Patch)
LACEY, NJ Local parks, including one in Lacey, are accepting Christmas tree donations through Jan. 31.
Trees that are donated can be turned into woodchips for landscaping projects in Ocean County parks. In the past, recycled trees have also helped towns replenish their beach dunes.
Enos Pond County Park (330 East Lacey Rd., Forked River) will accept donations.
