PEORIA, Ill. Peoria firefighters and paramedics were called around 2:15 a.m. Saturday to the 2100 block of N. Wisconsin on reports of smoke in a building.
Upon arrival, crews found a two-unit apartment complex with fire showing in an upstairs window.
The fire was put out and contained to the apartment’s kitchen area.
An occupant of the apartment, who was outside when crews arrived, suffered a minor burn to his arm. He was treated at the scene.
Firefighters conducted a search and found another tenant in a downstairs apartment. He was evacuated for safety reasons.

About 40 employees were working just after midnight when the blast occurred in one of five buildings on Yenkin-Majestic Paint s campus in Columbus, officials said.
While most of the employees came out of the building as firefighters arrived on the scene, authorities learned two were trapped, according to Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Steve Martin.
They were eventually rescued and taken to Ohio State University Hospital with critical injuries, he said. Six others were stable.
