Pam Zubeck A group of former board members of Ithaka Land Trust has asked Attorney General Phil Weiser’s office to investigate the nonprofit’s recent sales of nearly half its 21 properties to one chosen developer at prices below market value, while loaning $555,717, interest free, to the same developer on some of those sales. The transactions represent a radical departure from Ithaka’s original mission, when established in 1981, to care for the poor and provide permanent low-income housing. Golder Ranch Fire Chief appoints assistant chief Robb Scott TUCSON (KVOA) - Golder Ranch Fire Chief Randy Karrer has appointed Golder Ranch Deputy Chief Scott Robb to Assistant Chief. Chief Robb will be assigned to operations and this promotion is effective immediately. The Golder Ranch Fire District announced in a news release Wednesday.   Assistant Chief Scott Robb started his career as a reserve firefighter in 1999 with the City of South Tucson and Golder Ranch Fire District. In July of 2001, Robb was able to secure a full time position with Golder Ranch Fire District where he steadily moved up through the ranks from Firefighter to Paramedic, Captain, Battalion Chief and most recently Deputy Chief. He graduated from Grand Canyon University in October of 2013 and continually seeks conventional and unconventional ways to broaden his horizons, GRFD said. 

Tuscaloosa's Temporary COVID-19 Vaccination Site Up and Running

A temporary COVID-19 vaccine site is up and running this weekend at the Alabama Fire College. This was a multiagency operation that saw workers from the Fire College, Tuscaloosa County EMA, City of Northport and City of Tuscaloosa on site helping with distribution. This facility will be administering the Moderna vaccine to those who have made appointments online. The doses were provided by the ADPH. We ve been planning this for two months, and it finally came together last week, said Fire Chief Randy Smith. We started looking at this as soon as the vaccine came out. DCH initially started administering vaccines, and it became very evident that they would need some assistance. We re just doing our part standing up and helping make sure 2,000 people get inoculated.

(KOLD News 13) - The Arizona Board of Technical Registration granted Deputy Fire Marshal Jennifer Akins the Professional Engineer (PE) designation as a Fire Protection Engineer. Akins was required to successfully complete the PE Exam, which consists of 85 questions based on 17 topics. The exam takes eight and a half hours to complete.
