In 2016, out of 126 Assembly constituencies, BJP contested 84 constituencies and left 42 to its allies Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) 24, Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) 16 and Rabha Jatiya Aikya Manch one and Tiwa Jatiya Aikya Manch one seat.
