CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Food distribution is continuing today on Madison Street at Liberty Parkway in the old Eckerd/Rite Aid pharmacy location.
Open Door Ministries, in partnership with local churches and the USDA, is giving away the food. Cars may be lined up along Madison Street.
This is the fourth event held by Open Door Ministries at the site. According to Pastor Mark Hutchinson, who is leading the food distribution effort, the group had thought food supplies were exhausted, but they were surprised by an additional shipment.
“With the epidemic that we’ve had this year, everybody needs something. And if you have to question whether to pay a bill or feed your family, we’ll feed your family so you can pay your bill,” he said previously.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A food distribution event has one lane of Madison Street blocked from just after Crossland Avenue to Liberty Parkway.
CPD officers are currently directing traffic and blocking turning lanes at the intersection of Madison Street and Liberty Parkway, as well as the intersection of Liberty Parkway and Delmar Drive.
Open Door Ministries, in partnership with local churches, is giving away food at the old Eckerd/Rite Aid drugstore at the intersection of Liberty Parkway. Cars lined up to collect food are backed up for about 2,500 feet.
This is the second event held by Open Door Ministries at the site. According to Pastor Mark Hutchinson, who is leading the food distribution effort, the group will be present next week as well.
