A mother has been left astounded after winning £10,000 every month for the next year when her daughter put a National Lottery ticket into her birthday card.
Cheryl Crowley from Brent, north west London, was given the card by her daughter Jade, 27, for her 45th birthday on May 7.
Mother-of-three Jade had purchased a selection of Lucky Dip tickets for the Set For Life draw the day before and slipped them into her mother s birthday card.
And primary school teacher Mrs Crowley couldn t believe her luck when she checked the numbers and realised she was a big winner.

AS planning applications for retail outlets tumble across the UK, because of the Covid crisis, concerns are growing that the face of the High Street is changing, and Ledbury may not be exempt. Nationally, planning applications for new shops have fallen by one fifth recently, and a glance through recent Herefordshire Council planning applications shows that Ledbury town centre is following the downwards trend in this respect. “The various lockdowns have been catastrophic to the retail sector, causing developers to cut their retail development pipeline,” said Boodle Hatfield head of real estate Simon Williams, while speaking of the UK situation.

A much loved care home manager, who has worked in the business for over 20 years, has been honoured by the Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk and Sheriff of Suffolk for her sense of duty.
Mrs Crowley has been honoured with specific recognition for her and her team s dedication throughout this year and last in keeping the residents at Alice Grange Care Home in Kesgrave, Suffolk, safe and well.
Mrs Crowley qualified as an RGN in 1998 and has worked at a managerial level ever since 2000.
