Chieftaincy cases at the W/R House of Chiefs biggest challenge Awulae Adjaye III May 12, 2021 The number of chieftaincy cases pending at the Western Region House of Chiefs stand at 61, the Acting President of the House, Awulae Annor Adjaye III, has revealed, stressing that the rising trend is regrettable and the ‘biggest challenge.’ Out of the number, 42 cases are petitions with 19 standing as appeal cases. However, with the new administrative set up in Ghana, the National House of Chiefs at an emergency meeting on April 1, has directed that 22 of cases should been transferred to the Western North Region. Awulae Annor Adjaye III, disclosed these at a stakeholders’ consultative meeting with the Minister of Energy, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh and the Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister, Ebenezer Kojo Kum, at Sekondi, on Monday. ....

705 President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sworn in the members of the eighth Council of State, with a charge on them to offer honest advice to deepen democracy and help advance the development of the country. President Akufo-Addo administered the Oath of Allegiance, the Oath of Membership of the Council and the Oath of Secrecy to the 31-member council. After that, each of the members received the instrument of appointment contained in a red, gold and green scroll, with the black star in the middle. The members, majority of whom were members of the seventh council, both appointed and elected, also signed the Oath Book, which the President sealed by appending his signature. ....
