And it’s going to happen again this year, in Belle Fourche, S.D.
The Women’s Ranch Bronc Riding, sanctioned by the Texas Bronc Riders Association, will take place during the July 2 and 3 performances of the rodeo.
It’s an event that was common in the early days of the Roundup, said Keith Anderson, chairman. The Roundup featured women bronc riders from its inception in 1918 to the 1940s.

The summer of 2021 is a great time to travel across these Old West highways.
The West is a grand place to travel, and its many highways and back-country roads are a great way to enjoy its natural wonders, monuments and parks, historic towns and destination getaways. Since last year’s national pandemic shutdown, our hospitality, museum and tourism travel partners across the West have been eagerly awaiting the return of travelers. We believe the summer of 2021 is a wonderful time to get back on the road and enjoy the scenic beauty, cultural heritage and welcoming communities of the Western United States.
Another year of Family Fun Days at the Tri-State Museum comes to an end
December 21, 2020
BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. The Tri-State Museum and Visitor Center in Belle Fourche held its final Family Fun Day of 2020. During December, families learned the history of bells, including Christmas Bells.
They also got the chance to do some bell-related crafts while watching holiday films. The Tri-State Museum believes learning should be as much fun as it is educational.
Kristi Thielen, Director of the Tri-State Museum and Visitor Center, said, “Yes, we learn things and have a good time and learn more about the museum. Because of course we always encourage people after they’ve finished the Family Fun Day crafts to walk around and see other things that we have to offer as well.”
