Adrian plans to install splash pad at Parish Park
Martha A. Churchill
ADRIAN A splash pad is being planned for a park on Adrian s east side.
The city is looking at several splash pad features to be set up at Parish Park, with equipment likely being ordered in July. The contractor, Penchura LLC of Brighton, has experience installing splash parks in other municipalities in Michigan.
At the Adrian City Commission s premeeting Monday, Matt Tomaszewski, parks and engineering director for the city, walked the commissioners through a few options, including some packages that would be more economical than customizing a plan. Milan is using the same contractor and is installing a splash pad that costs $180,000. He said that s more than the $130,000 to $150,000 Adrian has budgeted.
Clinton approves social district plan along Michigan Avenue
Martha A. Churchill
CLINTON Clinton has approved a social district on the village s main drag.
The district map shows it includes the north and south side of West Michigan Avenue from Jackson and Tecumseh streets to Burton and Division streets.
Two parking lots are included in the proposed social district, to be used as needed, in case live bands come to town, or just as places for people to sip their drinks and chat with one another. Those are the Brown Street and West Church Street parking lots.
Four watering holes are being authorized to sell alcoholic beverages in the newly formed social district: Alévri Mill Distilling, 148 W. Michigan, Captain’s Lounge, 149 W. Michigan, Clinton Inn, 104 W. Michigan, and Johnnie’s Bar & Grill North, 124 W. Michigan.
