STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. New York City officials said Monday that they believe blanket protection from the coronavirus (COVID-19) will not be achieved in the near future, and urged city residents to protect themselves by getting vaccinated.
During a morning press conference, Mayor Bill de Blasio and city health experts reacted to a Monday New York Times report that national experts believe the U.S. would never reach “herd immunity,” in which enough people had been inoculated form the virus.
