The Palaszczuk Government is supercharging the Darling Downs with connection of the state’s largest battery to the transmission network nearing completion at Wandoan.
Minister for Energy, Renewables and Hydrogen Mick de Brenni said the government-owned Powerlink was working closely with Vena Energy to support their Wandoan South Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project.
“As part of our economic recovery plan, the Palaszczuk Government is delivering cheaper, cleaner and reliable energy for Queenslanders,” Mr de Brenni said.

The Australian Energy Market Operator, in its latest statement, said there was not enough power to meet demand following the incident at the Callide Power station, shaking the reliability of the system.
