One Little Favor Before Their First Date
When Erik Leibovitz and Dara Silverman initially met online, he asked her to not go out with anyone else before they had the chance to meet in person.

Dara Silverman knew Erik Leibovitz for all of 15 minutes after connecting on J-Swipe in July 2015, when he asked a question that caught her off guard.
“Can you do me a favor?” said Mr. Leibovitz, 30, the vice president for global partnerships and business development at Monumental Sports & Entertainment in Washington.
Ms. Silverman, also 30 and a vice president for cybersecurity operations at J.P. Morgan Chase in Washington, braced herself.

Waiting for donuts at Glazed Over. The city of Beacon didn t quite know what to do when the first food truck arrived on its rapidly changing streets five years ago. The city was wary about granting permits in worries that it would lead to food trucks parked up and down Main Street. So the two young CIA grads who ran the Beacon Bite bought a vacant lot on Main Street and parked their truck on it. They planted a community garden on the lot and painted murals, including a smiling alien above the slogan KEEP BEACON WEIRD, a riff on the infamous slogan KEEP AUSTIN WEIRD.

.-The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College announces a new publication on the most urgent issues of the day. Culture as Catalyst is a collection of compelling dialogues and new writings by artists, scholars, activists, and influential thinkers who present new perspectives that disrupt the status quo by encouraging a getting comfortable with discomfort attitude to work through big ideas to drive change.
