The parents of missingTennessee 5-year-old Summer Wells attended juvenile court this week after their three sons were placed in the custody of that state s Department of Child Protective Services, according to local reports.
The sons of Don Wells and Candus Bly have been in CPS custody since last week, their mother told the Johnson City-based WJHL-TV at the courthouse, confirming statements her husband made on a podcast over the weekend.
She told the station that the boys were removed for reasons unrelated to Summer’s disappearance, and Wells suggested that they were now safer.

Today, July 26, 2021 Don Wells came forward and stated that the brothers of Summer Wells has been removed from the home. Times News spoke to him and he wouldn’t discuss specifics about why the boys were removed except to say it’s not safe at his home at this time.
Don said, “I cannot say a word,” to a reporter that called him on the phone.
The reporter asked if something happened and Don said no.
Don said there was too much going on and people were crazy as hell and it was not safe at his house.
The Department of Family Services in Hawkins County, Tennessee, has removed three children from the home where Summer Wells is believed to have disappeared last month.
As investigators continue to search the rural east Tennessee area for the missing five-year-old girl, her three brothers are no longer living with their parents, Don Wells and Candus Bly.
For days, social media groups dedicated to the search for Summer Wells have been abuzz with the unconfirmed reports about Summer’s brothers being removed by social services.
“There’s too much going on and people are crazier than hell, and right now it’s just not safe at my house,” Wells told the news outlet. “There’s too much going on. Too many crazy people coming around trying to start stuff.”
