Brewing trend: Pennsylvania breweries shipping products direct to consumers Steve Orbanek © ADAM ESKER RIVALRY BREWS/CONTRIBUTED PHOTO Direct-to-consumer shipping has not taken off as quickly in Ohio as it has in Pennsylvania. One reason for that could be the rise of Rivalry Brews. Since its launch in May 2020, the third-party company has reached an agreement with nearly 30 different breweries and now ships their beer to 41 different states, including Pennsylvania.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, words like resilient and agile have been used to describe businesses that have adapted to changing circumstances.
The terms are also applicable to Pennsylvania’s craft beer industry. Before the pandemic, only four Pennsylvania breweries were shipping. That number has ballooned to 40.
