Police: Horse rescued from marsh area of Branford River Tara O’Neill FacebookTwitterEmail First responders, animal control officers and citizens helped free a horse stuck in the muddy, marsh area of the Branford River in Branford May 11, 2021.Branford Police Department BRANFORD First responders pulled a horse from the muddy, marsh portion of the Branford River Tuesday morning, according to police. An officer and a sergeant responded to a call about a horse stuck in the marsh area of the Branford River. Fire personnel and animal control officers also responded to help. Police said several citizens in the area also pitched in some assistance to help first responders get the horse from the mud. The horse was brought back home, uninjured, police said. The owner of the horse was not named.
