Indian Navy receives first two 24 MH-60R helicopters from US
The Indian Navy is procuring 24 MH-60R Multi Role Helicopters (MRH) manufactured by Lockheed Martin under foreign military sales from the US government at an estimated cost of $2.4 billion.

The United States Navy has handed over the first two Sikorsky MH-60R multi-role helicopters to the Indian Navy at Naval Air Station in North Island, San Diego on Friday.
The delivery of the first two MH-60R Romeo helicopters to the Indian Navy marks the beginning of a new era of defence collaboration and partnership between the US and India. Going forwards, the US Navy will support the Indian Naval Forces through capability upgrades and sustainment as the aircraft is inducted.
The MH-60R helicopter is an all-weather helicopter.
WASHINGTON: In yet another sign of strengthening India-US defence relationship, the US navy has handed over the first two MH-60R multi role helicopters (MRH) to the Indian Navy.
The Indian navy is procuring 24 of these helicopters manufactured by Lockheed Martin under foreign military sales from the US government at an estimated cost of $2.4 billion.
A ceremony was held at the Naval Air Station North Island or NAS North Island, San Diego on Friday that marked the formal transfer of the helicopters from US navy to Indian navy. It was attended by India s ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
