A town s art gallery and museum has announced details of its upcoming summer 2021 programme The programme, which includes two linked exhibitions (one taking place inside and one outside of the gallery), both explore the past, current and future relationship of a town to the seaside. Blackpool s Grundy Art Gallery doors will first open for the indoor exhibition of ‘Seaside:Photographed’ on Saturday between 3pm and 5pm. This can then can be viewed during normal gallery opening hours until September 11. In addition, #WorkTownGhostTown, which can already be viewed outside on the glass panels that form part of Grundy’s forecourt, brings together the work of local photographers who have been documenting Blackpool over the last 16 months.

Local businessman Andrew Beaumont (left) and his sister Kathryn Lee (right) has leased a section of the Promenade from the local council to set up Blackpool Deckchairs which will rent up to 500 chairs and windbreaks to tourists each day. After a 10 year absence, the iconic red and white striped deckchairs synonymous with British holidays will be making a welcome return to a Lancashire town this summer. After seeing the potential in a summer of staycayion holidays, businessman Andrew Beaumont, has leased a section of Blackpool s Promenade from Blackpool Council to operate his deckchair business. Mr Beaumont and his family will be runing their business of 500 deckchairs and windbreaks from the section of the Promenade between Central Pier and the RNLI station.
