Hard Rock’s Rockin’ Rowers ‘win’ fundraising title
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City participated in the 2021 Gilda’s Club of South Jersey Dragon Boat Festival on July 11 at Lake Lenape. The casino’s team, Rockin’ Rowers raised more than $17,000 and was named top fundraiser.
In addition to team member fundraising and event sponsorship, Hard Rock Atlantic City initiated a silent auction at the event to generate additional revenue for the charity, which included two tickets to see Guns N’ Roses, an autographed Tim McGraw guitar and an autographed Beach Boys surfboard. Team Members alone raised more than $12,000.

WALLINGFORD, CT The Wallingford Board of Education appointed Danielle Bellizzi as the district s new Superintendent of Schools at a special meeting on Wednesday.
Bellizzi succeeds Salvatore Menzo, who announced in April that he was leaving the district after 12 years to become the new Superintendent of Goodwin University Magnet Schools on July 1. Bellizzi s appointment is effective immediately.
Bellizzi, a Berlin resident, has served as Wallingford s Assistant Superintendent for Personnel for the past three years. She began her educational career teaching grades 1 and 5 at Mary E. Griswold Elementary School in Berlin. In 2003, her family relocated to Gaithersburg, Maryland, where she served for five years as an elementary reading interventionist and consultant at Highland Elementary School in Silver Spring, according to a news release.

Smith receives Counselor of the County award
The New Jersey School Counselor Association recently honored school counselors from counties within New Jersey at its annual “Counselor of the County” Awards Program.
Erety Smith, a school counselor from Cumberland Regional High School, was selected as the 2021 Counselor of the County for Cumberland County.
Candidates are selected for this award at their county-level school counselor associations. They are selected because of their ability to deliver an effective school counseling program which focuses on academic development, career counseling, and personal/social support.
