Punjab lifts ban on recruitment of constables, traffic police July 17, 2021 LAHORE: Punjab government Friday lifted ban on sanctioned seats for constables and traffic police allowing two new Grade 16 Risaldar seats in the Border Military Police (BMP) in Rajanpur and recruitments on vacant BMP seats in DG Khan. The approval was given in the 60th meeting of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Finance and Development. The meeting at CM Secretariat was chaired by Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht and attended by Chief Secretary Punjab Jawad Rafique, Secretary Finance Iftikhar Ali Saho, Chairman Planning & Development (P&D) Board Abdullah Sanbal, officers of the concerned departments while Advisor to the Chief Minister for Economic Affairs Dr Salman Shah attended through video link. More than 19 recommendations from various departments were presented in the committee meeting.

Firdous-Sonia scuffle and rule of law May 12, 2021 Earlier this month, the special assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab on Information and Culture created a ruckus when she visited a Ramzan bazar in Sialkot. Firdous Ashiq Awan was caught on camera publicly admonishing Assistant Commissioner Sialkot Sonia Sadaf over over the standard of produce being sold. Daily Times Chief Secretary Punjab takes notice, sends reservations to CM Punjab May 3, 2021 Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday reprimanded Assistant Commissioner Sialkot Sonia Sadaf for failing to control the sale of substandard items in Ramadan bazaars. During her visit to the Ramdan bazaars, Dr Awan scolded and shouted at the Assistant Commissioner Sonia Sadaf in presence of the public and other officials. Firdous Ashiq Awan took stern notice of the sale of substandard goods and told AC Sialkot that it was her duty to check the quality of the goods. During her visit, she said that Ramadan bazaars have been set up by the government, it cannot be given in the hands of such thugs adding that the government is responsible here.
