Copy shortlink: A 21-year-old man fled his family s bullet-riddled home in Chanhassen but soon surrendered after fatally shooting his older sister in her bedroom, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday. Joseph T. Ness was charged in Carver County District Court with second-degree intentional murder in connection with the killing of Noelle Ness, 25, on Saturday at the home in the 3700 block of Landings Drive, where several rifles and ammunition were found by authorities. Ness appeared in court Tuesday and remains jailed in lieu of $1 million bail. He s due back in court on May 21. Court records do not list an attorney for him.

(FOX 9) - A 21-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after he reportedly shot and killed his sister over the weekend in Chanhassen, Minnesota. According to the criminal complaint, Joseph Thomas Ness fired hundreds of rounds from AR-15s and AK-47s inside the home. At about 2:20 p.m. on May 8, Carver County deputies were dispatched to the 3700 block of Landings Drive in Chanhassen regarding a fire alarm. A short time later, dispatch received a call that a shooting occurred at the home.

Updated: 9:06 PM CDT May 8, 2021 CHANHASSEN, Minn. The Carver County Sheriff s Department says a young woman is dead following a shooting that took place at a Chanhassen residence Saturday afternoon. Sheriff Jason Kamerud says deputies initially responded to a general fire alarm on the 3700 block of Landings Drive, when they learned of a shooting at the same residence. They located the 25-year-old female victim inside with at least one gunshot wound.  Kamerud says the suspect, a 20-year-old man who is thought to have shared the residence with his sister, left the scene of the crime on foot and made contact with a nearby pedestrian.
