Fianna Fáil TD Marc MacSharry has filed a legal case against the Standards in Public Office Commission (Sipo).
Mr MacSharry, an outspoken backbench TD, issued High Court proceedings against the State political standards watchdog on Friday. He is being represented by solicitor Aidan Eames, court records show.
Both Mr MacSharry and his lawyer said they would not be commenting on the matter, and did not wish to disclose what the legal challenge was related to.
