JOHANNESBURG – The family of the late songstress Sibongile Khumalo have said they are humbled and filled with gratitude after the late singer was awarded an honorary doctorate in music by Wits University.
During a virtual graduation earlier this week, South Africa s First Lady of Song was honoured for being an ardent proponent of arts education and a cultural activist.

Rivoningo Bonnie Nkuna is an artist based in Pretoria East. She was born in Pimville, Soweto. She descends from a culture-rich family and inherited her vocal genes from her talented father, Matsambo Nkuna. She has been featured on projects with artists such as Tebs David.

She started actively participating in the arts back in primary school, entering competitions and being actively part of school events and concerts, not only participating but also co-ordinating the school events as well.
She is the founder of an Afro soul jazz band called, Music Flair, which started performing in March 2014. The band has done extremely well for itself, sharing and opening stages with prominent artists all around South Africa.
