The State of Delaware offers a nearly $400,000 incentive package for a freight carrier seeking to expand operations in Northern Delaware.
North Carolina-based Old Dominion Freight Line invests more than $13.6 million in a new 40,000 to the 50,000-square-foot service center in Northern Delaware.
Old Dominion Freight Line is one of the nation’s largest less than truckload carriers and operates terminals throughout the nation.
It is one of the survivors of deregulation of the trucking industry that was once characterized by a large number of regional carriers and a smaller number of national haulers. Old Dominion expanded nationwide and snapped up regional motor freight carriers in building its national footprint.

Thousands of country music fans descended on the desert Saturday night for one of the area s first high-profile concerts since the coronavirus pandemic began.
The new outdoor venue Coachella Crossroads hosted its inaugural concert with country star Toby Keith and opening act Jimmie Allen. For many people, this was their first show in more than a year.
Keith hit the stage shortly after 9 p.m., after Allen played a half-hour opening set, using AC/DC s War Machine as an intro. The headliner s 90-minute setlist started with Made in America, God Love Her and American Ride. Eighteen months was long enough for me, Keith told the audience, saying it was his first show back since the pandemic began.
The Bostock sisters are a lively bunch.
They are Angi, Crystal and Melissa. On a beautiful spring day, they sit out in the sun talking about their dad, Norbert, or “Nobby,” to those who knew him.
“He was just incredible. Just always there to help somebody else,” says Angi, one of Nobby’s five children. “Always wanted to make people laugh, always had a smile on his face.”
Next to them on a patio table are pictures of Nobby, along with some of his old belongings like his badges and work uniforms.
In March of 2020, Nobby became the first known case of COVID-19 in Southern Indiana. After four weeks in the hospital, he died from the disease. He was 77.
