CBC, Priestley prep Harold Ballard doc
Canadian pubcaster the CBC and local prodco Lone Eagle Entertainment are working on a feature documentary about sports mogul Harold Ballard, former owner of the Toronto Maple Leafs NHL team.

Harold Ballard: Power Player is being directed by actor and director Jason Priestley (Beverly Hills 90210, Private Eyes), with Modern Family writer Chuck Tatham and Lone Eagle president Michael Geddes exec producing.
Ballard was majority owner of the Maple Leafs from February 1972 until his death in 1990. The documentary will tell the story of his money-first attitude towards running his teams, as well as his stint in prison for fraud. It will debut on the CBC next year.

Canadian pubcaster CBC has unveiled its 2021-22 programming slate for CBC TV and CBC Gem as part of its 2021 Upfronts presentation, held yesterday (June 2).
In total, 43 properties are on the docket for CBC TV and the younger-skewed Gem, including 16 new shows and 27 renewals.
CBC Gem’s original lineup includes the unscripted series
Who Do You Think I Am? (Canadian Content Studios), starring Madison Tevlin, born with Down’s Syndrome. The show sees Tevlin, who has spent her life being judged at first glance, interviewing others with the intent of smashing perceptions and revealing the true person behind her subject.
