(Latvian Public Broadcasting) The indicative amount of funding that would be needed to implement the Covid-19 vaccination plan in 2021 is EUR 165.86 million, according to estimates from the Ministry of Health presented to the government April 20.
Of the total amount, 93.98% or €156 million is needed for:
€90.5 million for the purchase of vaccines,
€1.3 million for logistics,
€64 million for administering.
In addition, €1.2 million is earmarked for the operation of the call center, €1.45 million for information technology solutions and almost €5.59 million for national vaccination packages.
Much smaller amounts are planned for the bonuses to family doctors for the vaccinations of seniors and chronic patients, staff training, communication and the Vaccination Project Bureau, which needs nearly €642 thousand in funding.

She explained that the local government, working with the Ministry of Health and the Vaccination Project Bureau, had achieved a variety of vaccines being delivered to the city. This week, as educators are starting to get their jabs, it will be possible to choose between AstraZeneca, Moderna, or Pfizer/BioNTech.
At the same time, the City Council, in cooperation with the responsible authorities, will carry out informative campaigns aimed at the public, including educators, on the importance of vaccination. Also, educators are being surveyed about their willingness to get a jab.
